We need to have the names of every one who will attend. Please include the ages of all children. Once we have the number of people who will attend the reunion, we will be able to determine the registration fee.

Practicing for the Texas Hold Em tournament Ladies? Keep both hands above the table.

The plan is to play this tournament on Saturday afternoon. Registration fee and "winnings" (prizes) to be determined.

Can you imagine this group surrounding the first tee to "cheer" you on!!

This will be played Sunday morning. Please include your handicaps or average score for 18 holes (Ladies you may NOT use your husbands name as a handicap!) Once we have the number of participants we will book Tee Times. Participants will be responsible for their Green Fees & Carts (if desired) at time of play.

Chili Cookoff

I know we had the Tums here somewhere!!

Think you are man or woman enough to test your secret recipe in our own "Iron Chef" kitchen. Put your chili where your mouth is and enter our contest. We will have prizes (not just Rolaids) and FUN! FUN! FUN!

FIRST ANNUAL JOHNSTON CHILI COOK OFF 2007

Each contestant will be assigned a contestant’s number and be given 3 official 32 oz. judging cups. Each contestant should verify that the number on the bottom of their cup is the same as their assigned contestant number. Each contestant is responsible to deliver their cups, which must be filled to the bottom of the cup’s rim, to the judging area at the official time for judging.

The contestant must deliver the chili samples and chili to Canoe community Hall by 5:30. Place cups on the judging table and chili should be placed in serving bowls by 5:45.

Judging Time will begin at 6:00 pm – Canoe Community Hall

Tasters if you have major allergies – please avoid tasting.

Tasters please use a new spoon for each sample and clear your palate between tasting the different chili, we suggest a glass of water or perhaps a glass of wine….

Please dispose of your spoons appropriately in the garbage cans provided. No double dipping!

Tasters will be told they should vote for the chili they like best based on the following major considerations: good flavor, texture of the meat, consistency, blend of spices, aroma, and color.

Tasters will complete a ballot form and place a number on the form that correspondence with the number at the bottom of the cup that contains the chili. Deposit in the ballot box.

Ballots will be tallied and at the end of the Pot Luck – the winner will be announced.
